WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) - The City of Waterbury on Wednesday lifted a boil water advisory that had been in place since Sunday.

Mayor Paul Pernerewski said they city was informed at 1:30 p.m. that all distribution samples collected from the water system Tuesday tested negative for the presence of total coliform.

The mayor said the test results were available for residents to review on the City of Waterbury website at www.waterburyct.org.

“The advisory was issued as a precautionary measure following a water main break and subsequent repairs on Huntingdon Avenue,” Pernerewski said. “Residents who experienced low water pressure or a temporary loss of service on Sunday, Oct. 12 , were directly affected.”

The critical main on Huntingdon Avenue originally broke on Sept. 23 .
