A 17-year-old from Hamilton is facing multiple dangerous driving charges in connection with a crash that hurt six teens in August.
Hamilton police allege he was going double the speed limit — 142 kilometres an hour in a 70 km/h zone — and did not stop at stop signs. At least two of his young teen passengers were not wearing seatbelts.
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. on Aug. 26 at Valens Road and Concession 5 West in Flamborough, involving a Volvo commercial vehicle and a Kia minivan, police said. The 17-year-old was the driver of the minivan that had five teen passengers.
All six people from the minivan were taken to hospital with injuries, including one who remains in hospital.
