TEXARKANA, Texas – Ghosts, goblins and galore celebrated the Texarkana Texas Parks and Recreation Fall Festival in Spring Lake Park on Thursday evening.

Recently appointed as the city's new parks and recreation director, Keith Beason, brought his niece, Mackenzie Fountain, with him to celebrate the festival and to help pass out candy.

“This is our annual Fall Festival, we do it every year close to Halloween time,” said Beason. “We will have a costume contest out here in a little bit; we have some vendors and volunteers that are manning some games and also handing out candy.”

Beason said this is a big community event that attracts many people and is welcomed by the locals.

Movies in the Park will follow the Fall Festival , starting at dusk, and will feature “Nightmare Before Christma
