VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Across the nation, organizers estimate nearly 7 million people attended the 'No Kings' protests held in both large cities and small towns. Here in Hampton Roads, local organizers said they expect "tens of thousands of people" attended rallies here and all across Virginia.
"I think we saw more young people out at the protest than any other rally we've held in the past," said Carrie Short, COVA Coalition. "It was really encouraging to see."
Short helped lead the No Kings protest at Town Center in Virginia Beach and estimated roughly 3,000 people filled the fountain plaza.
Chesapeake organizers said roughly 1,000 attended the protest along Volvo Parkway, and more than 5,000 attended the No Kings protest in Williamsburg. Short told 13News Now the Williamsburg one was
