Some parts of the UK may be hit with snow this weekend, according to Met Office weather maps.
Following reports last week of a "four-inch burst" of snow hitting the UK, the Met Office has said that it does not expect a "significant cold spell" for the end of the month.
However, in a blog post on Thursday (October 16) forecasters suggested that isolated wintry showers are "always possible" towards the end of October, adding these spells are especially likely over high ground in Scotland.
Following this, current Met Office weather maps are now forecasting spells of snow and hail for parts of northern Scotland during the late hours of Friday night, into the early hours of Saturday morning.
