STRATFORD, Conn. — A Stratford man was arrested Monday for the deadly stabbing of his girlfriend, according to the town's police department.
Stanley Mulvey, 67, is facing charges of murder and interfering with a police officer. He was held in lieu of a $1 million bond.
Stratford police said they received a call at 7 p.m. Monday from Mulvey, who reported that he had just stabbed his girlfriend.
Officers arrived at Mulvey's home in Stratford and found him lying on top of the woman, identified as Megan McShane, 62, on the kitchen floor. Police said McShane was unresponsive and that the two were "covered in blood."
Investigators also found a large kitchen knife covered in blood near Mulvey and McShane.
