HAVELOCK, N.C. (WITN) - A man is facing several charges after a chase where Craven County deputies say he ended up running into a woman’s home.

Corey Thomas is charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and resisting a public officer.

Deputies say the Wednesday chase began as they were trying to stop Thomas’ vehicle on Fontana Boulevard in Havelock for multiple traffic violations.

Deputies chased the vehicle down McCotter Boulevard to Sanders Lane, where they say Thomas got out of the vehicle and ran into a home.

A short time later, deputies say a woman who lives in the home called 911 and said an unknown man just came into her house.

The 38-year-old Thomas was found and taken into custody. He was jailed without bond on a 48-hour domestic violence hold.
