PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced on Wednesday a teen boy has been sentenced to prison for attacking and choking his girlfriend earlier this year.
Sixteen-year-old Troy Aguilar-Olmos will serve 3.5 years behind bars for his crimes, Mitchell said. When he’s released, he be on supervised probation for three years.
“What happened to this young woman is heartbreaking. No relationship should ever be marked by fear or violence, no matter the age of the offender,” Mitchell said in an emailed release. “Today’s outcome cannot undo the trauma she endured, but it is a step toward justice.”
