ATLANTA — The wife of Billy Cagle, the man accused of plotting to shoot up the Atlanta airport terminal on Monday morning, has filed for divorce, according to documents obtained by 11Alive.

The divorce suit cites that Cagle's wife is entitled to a divorce due to the fact that the marriage between the two is "irretrievably broken." It also states that there is no hope of reconciliation and cites the grounds of "cruel treatment," including "habitual drug addiction."

Records show that the 49-year-old Cagle and his wife got married on Nov. 9, 2022, and have a daughter together. His wife requested sole custody of the child, citing that Cagle is "physically and financially capable of paying child support."
