PITTSBURGH —

Pittsburgh police are investigating the shooting of a 15-year-old boy in the city’s Stanton Heights neighborhood.

Police said the boy was shot multiple times just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Stanton Avenue and Woodbine Street. Advertisement

When police arrived Thursday morning, they found the boy with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and legs. Officers were able to apply tourniquets and control bleeding before emergency medical services arrived.

The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital where he was in critical condition but stable.

Authorities believe suspects took off in a car but did not provide additional information.
