SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - A child was hit by a truck while it was attempting to get on a school bus Thursday morning.
Around 7 a.m., a child stepped in front of a school bus on Wylder Drive while preparing to board, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The bus had activated its lights to stop but a passing pick-up did not stop, hitting the child.
Highway patrol said the truck was driving at a slow speed and the child was wearing dark clothing.
The child was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It is unknown if the driver is being charged or not, according to highway patrol.
