OAKFIELD, Wis. (WBAY) - A hunter suffered minor injuries to his face after falling from a tree stand on Thursday afternoon.
Around 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a deer hunter’s family, reporting that they believed he had fallen from his tree stand and had suffered facial injuries.
A ThedaStar medical helicopter was initially called, though once Fond du Lac sheriff’s deputies and a Lifestar ambulance arrived on scene and located the hunter, they determined that the medical helicopter was not required.
The hunter, a 44-year-old Waupun man, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for minor injuries. Authorities say that he was not wearing a tree stand safety harness at the time of the fall, which is believed to have been about 12
