DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) -- Students in the Danville School District are being sent home early after an "anonymous threat" prompted a soft lockdown at all schools Monday morning.

Superintendent John Hart posted on Facebook that because the threat was toward an "unidentified school building," all students in the district will be dismissed starting at 8:45 a.m.

Hart added that more information will be posted as it becomes available.

The Danville Police Department also posted on Facebook about the lockdown.

"Despite what you have observed on other Facebook pages, there is no reported shooting at any Danville schools," officials said. "The Danville Police are currently working with school officials to determine the source of the threat."
