The month of October in Vancouver was on the wet side, nearly 1 inch above normal. The final tally was 4.33 inches compared to the average of 3.41 inches. The average mean temperature was 53.7 degrees, one-half degree below normal. This is quite a switch from the drier months this year.

November will continue the trend of wetter weather with weather systems lined up this week. Tuesday night and Wednesday we have a good storm moving up from the south with moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds. I expect winds will be in the 25- to 40-mph range. Enough to clear the leaves off many of the trees.

If that isn’t enough, another storm arrives on Thursday for more moderate to heavy rain and strong winds similar to Wednesday’s weather system. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Salmon Creek in the low
