The Cherokee County Aquatic Center is hosting Swim Across America’s upcoming “Make Waves to Fight Cancer” swim event on Nov. 8.
“We’re incredibly honored to host the 2nd annual Cherokee County Swims Against Cancer event,” said Cherokee Recreation and Parks Director Jay Worley. “This cause is deeply personal to so many in our community, and we’re proud to join Swim Across America in their mission to support life-saving cancer research. It’s our hope that this event becomes a tradition, bringing our community together in the fight against cancer for years to come.”
Since 1987, Swim Across America has raised millions for cancer research nationwide. This year, funds from the event will focus on Leukemia research, clinical trials, medulloblastoma and osteosarcoma research at Children’s Health
