Lucas County commissioners agree Connecting Kids to Meals and the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo can better help people with an infusion of funds from the county.
They just couldn’t decide between $100,000 or $1 million.
Lucas County Commissioner Lisa Sobecki proposed giving $100,000 to help those nonprofits provide emergency food services. Commissioner Anita Lopez wanted the figure to be $1 million.
Ms. Lopez said she refers to the county’s reserve fund as a “rainy day fund.”
