Joplin city officials have agreed to provide temporary funding to the Area Agency on Aging Region X to prevent a disruption of programs and meals at the Joplin Senior Center as well as home-delivered meals.
Senior programs across the nation are reporting shortfalls in funding because of the federal government shutdown that has preempted regular payments to cover those services. ×
