MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - In 2016, a 6-year-old boy died. In 2023, an arrest was made connected to the child's death. Now, a jury is determining whether the boy's death was premeditated.
The trial for 40-year-old Darin Thrailkill, who's accused of first-degree and second-degree murder, began Oct. 29 with jury selection. And while witnesses are testifying regarding that July night, the question is what led to the trial for an incident that occurred nearly a decade ago.
