OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s food service provider, Elior Inc., will lay off 155 workers after choosing not to renew its contract with the university.
Elior informed the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development of the layoffs.
The university says the company’s contract was ending in the spring. UW-Oshkosh started a vendor selection process and says Elior chose not to participate in the selection process.
Food service workers make up the largest group of affected employees at 51 workers. The layoffs also affect 27 student employees, 24 cooks and 13 dishwashers, as well as bakers, managers and a registered dietitian.
All affected workers have been notified about when they will lose their jobs, according to Elior. The layoffs begin May 17.
