Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday said that the 150 years of India’s national song ‘Vande Mataram’ will be celebrated across Tripura for a year in four phases, as directed by the central government. The Information and Cultural Affairs Department has been appointed as the nodal agency for organising the events.

The celebrations will begin on November 7, 2025, and continue till November 7, 2026. “The Secretary of the Ministry of Culture informed all states about the decision through video conferencing. Accordingly, a schedule has been prepared, and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the central function at the Civil Secretariat on November 7,” said Chowdhury, who is also the cabinet spokesperson.
