CLEVELAND — On the heels of Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) CEO Dr. Warren Morgan's announced recommendations, which include closing or consolidating dozens of schools , Mayor Justin Bibb addressed the plan during a news conference on Wednesday.
"We've seen a nearly 50% reduction in the number of children going to CMSD over the last several decades and that has required us to make some hard choices about the future of our footprint," Bibb said during his remarks at Mt. Sinai Friendship United Church. "I know change is hard. I know change is very hard in Cleveland, but our children are suffering as a result of us not having the political courage to make hard decisions about the future of this district."
