INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Zoo had a special visitor on Thursday as they announced another new resident.

Former "TODAY" host Hoda Kotb visited the zoo and met team members and several animals. The zoo shared photos of the visit on Facebook, including Kotb nuzzling with a walrus and feeding a kangaroo.

Kotb spent nearly three decades with NBC, including seven years as co-host of "TODAY," before leaving in January 2025 to spend more time with her daughters, including 6-year-old Hope, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

Earlier Thursday, the zoo announced the arrival of "Blue," a sandbar shark who is making her home in the Oceans exhibit.

The zoo said Blue gets her name from her blue tint "and maybe a little nod to the deep blue sea and the Indianapolis Colts."
