LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) - The city of Le Mars is planning for the reconstruction of the portion of Business Highway 75 that stretches from 18th Street SW to Highway 3.
The project would include a full reconstruction of the existing roadway, new sidewalks, and upgrades to the storm and sanitary sewers. The project was spurred by deteriorating pavement conditions, safety concerns, and a growing demand placed on the route that sees nearly 10,000 vehicles every day.
The stretch of road was originally part of a 2017 project; according to the city’s presentation, since 2020 it has spent around $800,000 on repairs to the roadway.
