A much-loved nurse and 'defender of the NHS' tragically died just days after being sent home from hospital 'with indigestion.'
Her family say she was 'let down' by the NHS in her hour of need.
Mum Paula Ivers - described by her sister as a 'fierce advocate and defender of the NHS' - was found collapsed on the floor of her bedroom by her young daughter at their home in Denton, Tameside, and later pronounced dead, the MEN reports.
An inquest into the 47 year-old's death heard she attended Tameside Hospital A&E three days earlier with 'horrendous' chest pain she described as 'worse than childbirth', but was sent home after having been 'reassured' it was not 'coming from the heart'.
