COLUMBUS, Ohio — A judge on Tuesday dismissed four charges against Blendon Township police officer Connor Grubb, who was accused of murder in the deaths of Ta'Kiya Young and her unborn child.
Young was fatally shot by Grubb inside a vehicle in the Kroger parking lot on Sunbury Road on Aug. 24, 2023.
Judge David Young announced in court that two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault will be dropped against Grubb. According to the indictment, those charges were related to the death of Young’s unborn child.
Young explained that there was no evidence of Grubb knowing that Young was pregnant on the day she was fatally shot.
The state and defense attorneys are expected to rest their cases Thursday afternoon when the jury returns from lunch. Grubb is also not expected to testif
