A burglar whose blood was found in an overturned Land Rover which had crashed in a field has avoided jail

Alex Wild stole a farmer's Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Evoque in a burglary carried out with two others, who have not been identified. The trio stole the cars from Whitegate Farm in Newton under Roseberry, near Great Ayton , on October 1, 2023.

Teesside Crown Court has heard that the farmer locked his vehicles before going to bed at around midnight on September 30. The next morning, he discovered that both cars had gone. The keys had been stolen from inside his home.

The farm CCTV showed three men entering his yard in the early hours. The court heard that the police found the Land Rover Defender upturned in a field, off the A173, near his farm. There were blood stains in
