Flagstaff’s provenance is rooted in the lumber industry. From the train tracks to Lowell Observatory, Edwardian history permeates every inch of the mountain town. Two of the best-preserved historic structures in northern Arizona are tucked between their contemporary neighbors: Riordan Mansion State Historic Park and Arizona Historical Society Pioneer Museum.

Stepping through the thresholds of these buildings can feel like traveling back in time. Unfortunately, relics of the past are not often built to last.
