The Government has announced the free breakfast club rollout will continue, targeting areas where families are struggling most with the cost of living. It is set to save families £450 and 95 hours a year, according to the Government.

From next April, the rollout will allow half a million more children to join Best Start free breakfast clubs as 500 schools will be added to the programme. Schools will also receive a guaranteed £25 a day to cover staffing and admin so every type of school can easily deliver a breakfast club.

A further 1,500 primary schools will start offering the free clubs in September 2026, with applications due to open in January. Altogether, the rollout will benefit over 200,000 more underprivileged children.
