Thousands of parents are set to save £450 a year as the Government announces a major update to its free breakfast clubs. In an statement issued today, the Government confirmed that half a million more children will benefit from free breakfast clubs from April next year.
Applications open today, November 20 for the next wave of 500 schools with 40% of pupils on free school meals to benefit from the programme. The Government is investing £80 million to "give every child the best start in life - recognising that a healthy, well-educated population is essential for a thriving economy."
Labour says the move will offer immediate help to working parents juggling childcare costs by saving them up to £450 and giving back up to 95 hours of time.
