MUHLENBERG CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say the intersection of KY 176 and Merle Travis Highway in Muhlenberg County has reopened to traffic.
According to a press release, the intersection wasn’t expected to reopen until early December.
As we’ve previously reported , the roadway was blocked to allow crews to complete Phase One of a project to reconfigure the intersection.
Officials say the closure mostly included removing brush from the project area and doing other sight preparation work so that Phase Two can begin after a break for winter.
Once asphalt production resumes in the spring, Phase Two of the project will begin.
When Phase Two is completed, Phase Three will begin.
