UPDATE: One lane of Interstate 24 eastbound has re-opened to traffic after an early morning fire involving two semi trucks closed the roadway Friday.

Traffic is still congested in the area to the west.

PREVIOUS STORY: A fire with multiple semi trucks on Interstate 24 eastbound Friday morning has shut down a section of the roadway near Monteagle.

The fire appears to involve several trucks.

First responders are on the scene, but drivers should expect delays until the fires have been extinguished and the road reopened.
