Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center, a 501c3 agency, received a $2,500 grant from J.M. Smucker Company on Friday.

The grant will be used to purchase gas cards for families who are experiencing a crisis.

Executive director of the Barren River Child Advocacy Center, Leah Thompson, says families benefit from direct community support.

“You know, that can really be a burden on a family, to have to spend gas money coming, coming to and from the center regularly. So, it’s been very well received from our families to have that level of support, from our community,” Thompson said.
