A dead body discovered Thursday in a nature preserve in Bergen County was identified Friday by investigators as a local resident.

Officers from the Tenafly Police Department were called to the Tenafly Nature Center by a hiker who found the body around 2 p.m. and police notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

The body was identified as 64-year-old Robert Wolmer of Tenafly, according to a statement from the prosecutor’s office.

Wolmer’s death does not appear to be suspicious, but no other details were released by authorities.
