Strictly Come Dancing's head judge Shirley Ballas has opened up about her mother's battle with a "debilitating" illness in a heartbreaking update.

The 65-year-old lives with her mum Audrey, 88, in order to care for her as she struggles with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in 2022.

Shirley revealed she has seen her mum 'choke' and struggle to breathe, and revealed the condition is 'never going to get better'.

The NHS says the breathing problems associated with the condition tend to get gradually worse over time and can limit your normal activities.
