Seven teenagers, including a 13 year old, were shot during a riot at a Christmas tree lighting event in the US.
The incident occurred last night in Chicago's Loop, just hours after the city's official Christmas light ceremony in nearby Millennium Park.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the teenagers, aged between 13 and 17, were shot around 9:50pm near the intersection of State and Randolph streets.
Alderman Hopkins, who represents the second ward district, reported that "multiple police officers" were also attacked and injured with mace and stun guns, with at least one officer hospitalised.

The free event was reportedly stormed by as many as 300 young people, Hopkins added.
