The fatal shooting of a man in North Birmingham will be ruled justifiable, according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Birmingham police said officers responding to 33rd Avenue North around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday found Willie Raby, 32, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he died hours later.

Police said preliminary information indicated Raby argued with a family member before he was shot, and that the family member left the scene. That family member turned themself in to police Friday.

The district attorney’s office said the next day it will rule the incident justifiable. The office did not say whether the family member who police say fired
