NEW RIVER, AZ (AZFamily) — First responders are still searching for a man swept away by floodwaters near New River on Sunday.
Around 10 a.m., someone called 911 to report that a car had been swept away by floodwaters in the Agua Fria River near Table Mesa and Interstate 17 .
MCSO search and rescue teams, along with lake patrol and aviation units, immediately responded to the area. Despite the remote location, crews rescued the woman in the car. The man driving the car is still missing.
While crews were searching for the driver, they found a second vehicle being carried away in the flood. One of the deputies used a drone to find the two people who were in that car. MCSO says both people were able to get out of the vehicle safely and climb to the riverbank. From there, MCSO rescue crew
