Police in Chitipa have arrested six suspected habitual criminals for burglary and theft following intelligence-led operations carried out between 22 and 23 November 2025.

Chitipa Police Public Relations Officer Gladwell Simwaka identified the suspects as Steven Msukwa (28), Clement Phuwa (17), Felix Kaonga (18), Faliot Kafunda (16), Edson Chilima (35) and Michael Mwenefumbo.

According to Simwaka, the suspects were apprehended around Chitipa Boma by CID officers, who also recovered a range of stolen items, including two laptops, two home theatre sets, mattresses, a bicycle, assorted clothes, and various burglary tools.

The suspects, who come from Chitipa and Karonga districts, are expected to appear in court once investigations are finalised.
