TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Rural Metro Fire Department is advising residents to use caution with space heaters after a fire started inside of a home on Tucson's southside.

According to Rural Metro officials, the Engine 81 crew responded to a home near East Benson Highway after a report of a fire caused by a space heater on Monday morning.

The fire was quickly put out, and firefighters prevented the spread to other areas of the home.

Rural Metro officials advise residents to use caution with space heaters as the temperatures are beginning to drop, and recommend to have an HVAC unit service for the winter season.
