A 63-year-old driver fled from their truck moments before it was hit by an MBTA train on Monday.
Around 2 p.m. on Monday, the driver of a 2006 Dodge stopped beyond the safety line where an MBTA train was passing in Kingston.
Officials said the safety warning system functioned properly but the driver said they were unable to back up. Instead, they left their truck.
The MBTA train hit the truck, damaging the truck’s front. But there were no injuries.
Train service was delayed while the truck was towed. The driver was also cited.
