TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - DeOnte Brown, director of the Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement (CARE) at Florida State University, is now the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, per an FSU announcement .
Brown’s experience with the university dates back to 2010, as he previously served as a CARE academic success coach and later as a program coordinator. Brown returned to FSU in 2021 as assistant dean of Undergraduate Studies and as the FSU CARE director.
The CARE program at FSU assists first-generation students, Pell-grant eligible students and those who’ve experienced homelessness or foster care. According to the announcement, the CARE program is a part of the Division of Undergraduate Studies and the Division of Student Affairs.
