MARANA, Ariz. (KVOA) - Residents in Marana are gearing up for their first opportunity to voice opinions on proposed data centers near the Pinal County line. Public hearings are scheduled to take place at the Marana Council Chambers in just a few weeks.

The proposed data centers are planned to be built on two 300-acre plots of land near the Marana Arizona Veteran' Memorial Cemetery and Pinal Air Park off Hardin and Luckett Roads. Concerns are being raised by local residents about the impact of such industrial developments on the community.

"They're taking all the farmland away - we got irrigated properties and those irrigated properties are meant for growth - for cattle - for hay - not data centers - not industrial commercial parks," said a local resident who prefers to remain anonymous.
