NORFOLK, Va. — Two Hampton Roads mothers are a step closer to a life-changing gift thanks to Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads.
13News Now toured the new homes Habitat for Humanity is building in Norfolk. In just a few weeks, these houses will officially become home for two single mothers.
The construction crews are gone for now, but Frank Hruska with Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads walked me around to show how far the project has come and why this build matters so much.
“Today, Thanksgiving is about giving. The community came together and built two houses for two single mothers,” said Frank Hruska.
One of the future homeowners is Nasheeda Douglas. I spoke with her back in July when construction on her home was just getting underway.
