A 14-year-old boy has tragically died after he was hit by a train in Nottinghamshire.
Officers and paramedics attended the railway in Burton Joyce on Wednesday, November 26, at around 7pm after reports of a person being hit by a train. Sadly, a 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
East Midlands Railway said in a statement released on Wednesday that several services were cancelled and delayed due to the incident, Nottinghamshire Live reports. "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train," the statement said. "This has had a big impact on trains on the Newark Castle/Derby/Crewe and Leicester/Nottingham/Lincoln/Grimsby routes."
