SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —
The South Carolina Department of Social Services said that an infant was recently surrendered in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
On Wednesday, the Spartanburg Regional Health System accepted an infant, who was safely surrendered under Daniel’s Law.
According to DSS, this is the second, unrelated safe surrender of an infant at this hospital in the last month.
The white baby boy was born on Nov. 26 at the hospital, and weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces and was 18.31 inches long at the time of birth.
Under the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, Spartanburg County DSS took custody of the child, a medical evaluation was completed, and the infant has been placed in a licensed foster home.
