SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) said an infant was surrendered under Daniel’s Law in South Carolina.

Officials said a baby boy was born at Spartanburg Regional Health System on Wednesday and weighed five pounds, 15 ounces and was 18.31 inches long.

The baby was surrendered at the hospital under Daniel’s Law, the state’s Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, the same day.
