CORNELIUS, N.C. — Two men have been charged in connection to a stabbing in Cornelius .

Cornelius police officers responded to a stabbing at 18200 Statesville Road around 2 a.m. The victim had a stab wound to the chest and was taken to the hospital for surgery.

Officers pulled over a car they believed to be involved in the incident and arrested Dale Patterson and Denzel Washington.

Patterson was arrested for alleged assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury. Washington was arrested for alleged simple affray and intoxication.
