HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Shoppers and diners in Birkdale Village may soon notice more law enforcement on site. Huntersville Police Department says it is increasing patrols after weeks of disruptive behavior involving groups of young people.
Police announced the changes in a video posted to Facebook earlier this week saying there has been loitering and noise violations with and without vehicles.
Residents say the added police presence is overdue, especially with holiday crowds already picking up.
“I feel like we need more police presence in Birkdale, I think they need to be here to set a tone,” resident Brandi Hadden said.
Hadden says she has witnessed concerning behavior firsthand.
