GARRISON- Garrison emergency responders didn’t have far to travel Saturday when 9-1-1 calls reported a serious crash directly in front of the Garrison FD headquarters on Route 9.

Crews rushed to the scene and while members of the Garrison Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Empress Paramedics and the Putnam Bureau of Emergency Services assisted the injured, firefighters and the Garrison FD Fire Police Unit along with Putnam Sheriff’s Department personnel closed southbound Route 9 to ensure the safety of those assisting at the scene.

The injured were transported by ambulances to Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

Once accident reconstruction was completed and the vehicles removed by tow vehicles, the road reopened to traffic some 90 minutes later.
