LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police saw over double the normal number of crashes during the winter weather on Saturday.
According to LPD, officers responded to 70 crashes and 19 motor assists on Saturday. On Friday, LPD only saw around 25 crashes and had 0 motor assists.
LPD said that, on an average day, officers respond to around 20 to 30 crashes.
LPD said that drivers should remember to slow down and take precaution, give extra stopping distance, and remove snow from headlights and taillights.
